The success of our ministry depends on the many volunteers who lead our children on the field/court and in their walk with Jesus Christ.
​
In order to comply with applicable Federal and state laws, required background clearances must be on file with AFC before a volunteer may participate in the ministry.

The requirement applies to coaches, assistant coaches, team managers/team moms, and spiritual leaders -- anyone who could come in direct contact with our children.

Background clearances are valid for 5 years. It is acceptable to submit a previously-completed clearance as long as its expiration date is after the end of the current season.

Clearance 3 - FBI Federal Criminal History - OR - Affidavit of Compliance
For volunteers who HAVE NOT lived in Pennsylvania for the past 10 straight years, an FBI background check is required.
Plan ahead -- this clearance can require 30+ days to complete.
The process includes scheduling an appointment to get fingerprinted.

For volunteers who HAVE lived in Pennsylvania for the past 10 straight years, an affidavit of compliance may take the place of the FBI background clearance.

Please note: The Bethany Church office staff will serve as the witness for each volunteer's affidavit.
